2017 Fixtures Announced

We start our title defence where we left of last season – with two games against the London Mets

The Southampton Mustangs celebrate winning the 2016 NBL Championship in dramatic style

In a repeat of last season’s final fixture, the Mustangs begin their title defence with two games away against the London Mets.

This means there’s a swift return to Farnham Park, the place where we clinched our first National Baseball Championship.

Following the Mustangs first round of games on April 2nd, the club will finish the month with back-to-back fixtures against Herts Falcons and Brighton Jets at Wide Lane, on April 9th and 23rd respectively.

Speaking to the It’s Not Rounders podcast ahead of the fixture announcement, NBL Manager Ben Davis said: “Any time you win a title there’s a target on your back. You’re not the underdogs any more. We’ve lost a couple of players but we’ve re-tooled and picked up the big ones.”

The big ones in question include Gianny Fracchiolla and Angel Padron, along with Henry Collins, and brothers Ryan and Michael Trask.

On facing the London Mets this season: “The Mets are going to come back strong. They won’t take losing in the finals lightly, so we expect them to come straight back and have another battle this year.”

The Mustangs close out the season, hopefully again as champions, with a home tie against the Essex Arrows on August 27th.

With our Youth and Softball divisions growing now too, the Mustangs are gearing up for another record-breaking season. Be part of the Mustangs story. Attend any of our training sessions for just £2.
